My name is Rena Matha. I have been teaching children and teenagers to paint with watercolors and other painting media at the Fine Art School in Rayong, Thailand. Since last year, I have also been teaching watercolor painting to adults as a private instructor. I am an experienced educator with over four years of teaching English and computer science to preschool and primary students. I hold TEFL and TKT certifications, as well as a diploma in Montessori education. I am passionate about creativity and enjoy drawing, arts and crafts, and playing the violin at Suzuki Book 3 level. I've also volunteered as an art teacher and love incorporating art into my lessons. Currently based in Bangkok and open to relocating, I am looking for opportunities that allow me to inspire young learners through creativity and personalized education.

Born in Korea and raised in the US and Hong Kong, I am a lecturer and private educator dedicated to connecting people with the world of art, design, and culture through diverse educational experiences. With a background in promoting contemporary art within the Hong Kong art market and teaching Design History at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, I have steadily built my professional and academic career in Hong Kong. I am currently planning to pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) while training at an international secondary school. I hold an M.A. in Art History and a B.A. in Product Design. In my spare time, I enjoy training my intelligent Border Collie and participating in fun activities such as dog sports dance. I also volunteer for the Dr. Dog program organized by Animals Asia.

Teaching is rewarding, especially seeing the growth of my students' skills & imaginations, and after giving private and small group art lessons for over 18 years, I enjoy it even more than when I first began! After receiving my BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers) in 1988, I went on to work in art galleries & doing marketing & fundraising, then finally started my own art business full time about 23 years ago. I have 30+ years of experience in drawing, painting, illustration, digital art, photography and other media. I take the time to personalise my art lessons to meet the creativity, skill level and artistic needs of each student so they can get the most out of the lessons & I work at a pace each student feels comfortable with. My artwork has been exhibited in galleries and other venues for over 35 years and I've sold to private collectors, businesses and more so I have the passion and skills to help others grow their creativity. I listen, I care, I give respectful critiques as well as encouragement and I make the lessons fun. Each lesson is custom crafted to meet the skill level & creative interests of each student. All my current students have been learning with me for months to years, and all give me 5 star reviews, & I've taught people from ages 7 to 80+ years old. Hello! I have been giving art lessons online and offline for the past 4 years to both kids and adults. I regularly arrange workshops and have participated in various art markets too. I teach different mediums such as watercolors, acrylic paints, oil pastels, and color pencils/graphite. I am originally from India but have been living in the Netherlands with my family for the past 5 years. Before that, I was in the US. Although I have a Masters degree in Statistics, art is my passion, and I am very happy to be able to pursue it. I want to share this passion and talent with others as well.
