I am an International Relations graduate with an emphasis on World History and Political Science. Currently, I am living in Hoefkade and performing tutoring jobs in preparation for my Master's tuition.

My experience as a teacher has helped me gain knowledge of child psychology, and I am capable of understanding students' needs and taking measures accordingly. Hi there! I'm Irene and I offer ONLINE tutorials in Humanities subjects and English Lang/Lit for secondary students in Hong Kong. My lessons are all online via Skype or Zoom. As my tutorials often have a writing/essay focus, I use a Google Doc to share and collaborate with students in real time. We also use PDFs or real textbooks assigned to the student in their school classes to make sure we cover all the appropriate knowledge. I have been a private tutor for over 10 years, with a BA (Honours) in History and Politics at a London university. I also studied at an international school in Hong Kong for the IGCSE and IB Diploma, and teach students how to prepare for these exams! (If you're interested, my IB Diploma HLs were History, Psychology and English Language and Literature, and my Theory of Knowledge essay was world-recognised!) For History tutorials, I can cover most areas, particularly in modern history: US History includes Cold War, Vietnam War, Civil Rights Movement; modern Chinese history; modern Russian history; World War I and World War II; as well as Hong Kong colonial history. Hello, I'm Lwazi. I am a qualified educator with a bachelor's degree in education. I specialize in English FAL, Social Sciences, and History. I am punctual, reliable, helpful, honest and can be counted upon to finish what I started. I have one year tutoring experience ( private tutoring grade 10, 11 and 12) and eight months teaching experience acquired in primary school (grade 4, 5, 6, and 7). Hence, in my previous primary school I did teach children who can't read at the beginning of the year and seeing them progress out words and eventually being able to read independently has been a great source of satisfaction. My tutoring approach is that I start from topics the learners are familiar and comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I provide assistance and guidance to learners by promoting learner independence to learning. I do not lecture to learners or ask them to memorize things. Nor do I spoon feed learner. Helping others feels good as it boost my own happiness, health, self-esteem and sense of well-being. It gives me sense of purpose. it makes me feel more positive about my own circumstances. I love helping others because there is a great joy in being a servant for those in need. It makes me feel good knowing the I am improving the life of another.
