I have one year tutoring experience ( private tutoring grade 10, 11 and 12) and eight months teaching experience acquired in primary school (grade 4, 5, 6, and 7). Hence, in my previous primary school I did teach children who can't read at the beginning of the year and seeing them progress out words and eventually being able to read independently has been a great source of satisfaction. My tutoring approach is that I start from topics the learners are familiar and comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I provide assistance and guidance to learners by promoting learner independence to learning. I do not lecture to learners or ask them to memorize things. Nor do I spoon feed learner. Helping others feels good as it boost my own happiness, health, self-esteem and sense of well-being. It gives me sense of purpose. it makes me feel more positive about my own circumstances. I love helping others because there is a great joy in being a servant for those in need.
