Hi, I am Cyrus. I obtained a Master of Science from the University of California, Berkeley (Ranked #8 in World University Ranking, 2025) and a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University. I am a Math tutor for public exams, including the IBMYP, IB, GCE A Level, and US college/graduate school entrance exams, including the Quant section of SSAT, SAT, GRE, and GMAT. For more ambitious students, I offer tutoring in AP exams in Math and Physics. With over 8 years of tutoring experience, I have taught over 180 students from various international schools, such as HKIS, KGV, Canadian International School, Island School, German Swiss International School, and South Island School. For tutoring lessons, I travel to most districts in Hong Kong for home tutoring and can meet students at cafes or the clubhouse. I also teach online lessons using Zoom.

I am an international student at The University of Hong Kong (HKU), studying Decision Analytics—a program that requires a strong foundation in mathematics and statistics. My strongest subject is mathematics; I achieved the world’s highest mark in Cambridge O-Level Additional Mathematics, but I also teach physics and chemistry. I have earned A+ grades in all of these subjects at both the Cambridge Ordinary and Advanced Level Examinations. At HKU, I serve as a teaching assistant in a compulsory year one course all incoming freshman are required to take about AI litereacy and ethics.

After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in Political Science and Economics, I joined the Teach For America program—against the wishes of my parents, who had hoped I would pursue a career in finance—and taught a variety of subjects, including mathematics, chemistry, and biology. I also ran my school's after-school SAT tutoring program. As an educator, my background is in high school special education and middle school general education. However, my greatest strength lies in my ability to help students understand their goals and determine how best to achieve them.
