Hello Everyone! I am an experienced piano teacher with a great passion for music and education. I am very lucky to honestly say I do what I love and put my whole heart into my work. I hold a Master's Degree in Music Education and a Qualified Teacher Status obtained in England. I studied piano performance, piano improvisation, composition, and music theory. I have over 10 years of experience as a piano and music teacher in different settings, including international schools, public and private music schools, ballet schools, pre-schools, primary and secondary public schools, and private tutoring. I have also taught band, improvisation, musical theatre, and choir. I have worked in several different countries including Poland, the United Kingdom, Caribbean Islands, Vietnam, Thailand, and online, teaching students from around the world. I am an active performer playing piano and accordion and singing; performing solo, in duets, and in bands. I constantly continue to develop my knowledge and teaching skills by attending masterclasses and courses. I use a variety of methods, adjusting my approach for each student individually. For example, I use Chopin's piano playing technique, the Dalcroze experience-based music method, and jazz approach harmony and improvisation exercises, as well as a mixture of modern resources like Faber, Wunderkeys, or McIntosh Johnson. This allows me to ensure each student is progressing towards their individual, specific goal. I have students playing for fun, preparing for ABRSM/Trinity exams, returning to playing, or starting from zero, so no matter what your story is, you can count on my full support and flexible approach. I obtained my Yamaha Piano and Fundamentals G.5 Certification around 2014. In addition, I received my Trinity Piano G.8 certification in 2018. Currently, I am studying to obtain an ATCL certification. Furthermore, I graduated from the College of Music, Mahidol University, with a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition.

I'm Francis, and I'm really happy to be your piano teacher. I specialize in music production and technology, but I also have a strong foundation in classical training - which means I understand both the technical and creative sides of music. While I work a lot with recording and composing, I also love teaching beginner piano, especially to young learners like you. As a soloist and chamber musician, Connor has graced prestigious venues throughout the UK and Europe. Notable UK venues include Wigmore Hall, Milton Court Barbican, St Martin-in-the-Fields, St James’s Piccadilly, and Buckingham Palace, where he performed in the presence of King Charles. His international appearances include esteemed venues such as The Fazioli Concert Hall in Venice, The Lithuanian Music Theatre & Academy Hall, The Chopin Museum and Radziejowice Palace in Poland. Connor’s recent season highlights include solo performances with orchestras such as The Symphonique De Nivelles, recital tours in the USA, Portugal, Azores, and Bermuda as a guest artist for Cunard, and numerous concerts across Europe and the UK, where his artistry continues to resonate deeply with audiences. In recognition of his outstanding final recital, Connor was awarded the prestigious “Concert Recital Diploma.” His studies were further enriched by guidance from eminent pianists such as Norma Fisher, Sir Stephen Hough, Peter Frankl, Nelson Delle-Vigne, Lucy Parham, and Michel Béroff. He has been supported by scholarships from The Guildhall Trust, Leverhulme Arts Trust, Countess of Munster, and the Alec Beecheno Bursary Award. Following his studies, he was given an Artist Fellowship at Guildhall. His competition achievements include top prizes in competitions such as The Wales International Piano Competition, The UK Liszt International Piano Competition, Recondite Armonie Piano Competition, IPPA Conero, and Worthing Concerto Competition. In addition to his solo career, Connor is the co-founder of the award-winning London Piano Duo with pianist Daisy Ou. Together, they curate and perform engaging programs that appeal to diverse audiences, collaborating with other artists to create accessible and memorable recitals. The duo has been awarded with “The Guildhall Futures Fund Award.” Connor is represented by Piha Entertainment and is supported by Talent Unlimited. Hi there, I am Rory Hird - an experienced music educator currently based in northern Bangkok.
