I believe that Philosophy is a debate type of module and should be treated as such. A standard tutoring session would consist of discussing the topic, the Philosopher and his theory before having a short healthy debate on the Philosopher's theory.

Debates will allow a student to develop Critical thinking skills which are a core part of studying Philosophy. Critical thinking allows a student to say A plus B = AB but can't A plus B = C? Read less
