Questions for You

Q: What materials or resources do you provide to help students succeed in computer science?

PDFs, interactive coding challenges, videos, self-marked quizzes.

Q: What programming languages are you proficient in?

Python, Java, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Scratch, Objective C, SwiftUI

Q: What tools or software do you use to teach computer science lessons?

Visual Studio Code, Replit, various debuggers, GitHub for source control

Q: How do you handle students who are struggling with specific topics or concepts in computer science?

Provide a variety of materials which might correspond to student's learning style. For example, some students respond better to video format, while others might benefit from more gamified education.

Q: How do you balance teaching theoretical concepts with practical application in computer science?

Both must be taught equally. Ideally you learn small bits of theory first and then apply it immediately.

Q: Can you provide any examples of projects or assignments that you assign to students during computer science lessons?

We would start with text-based games, "Build your own adventure". Then, simple 2D games like noughts and crosses, battleships. Then mor complicated ones, and then eventually games with UI.

Q: How do you handle difficult questions or topics that may arise during computer science lessons?

I can trust my own expertise here in most cases, as I am an expert in a field with a degree in Software Engineering and 8+ years of experience in teaching.

Q: Can you provide any guidance on career opportunities or paths related to computer science?

Absolutely. I have previously worked in a field and have lots of friends who currently work in IT-related jobs all around the world. I know from first-hand experience how industry works.
