Questions for You

Q: What areas of physics do you specialize in, and what level of physics do you usually teach?

I specialize in: Physics for high-school and early university levels, with a strong focus on mechanics, energy, motion, waves, and electricity. Levels I teach: I mainly teach Grades 9–12 (high-school physics and preparation for exams) and introductory university physics courses for first-year engineering and science students. I focus on developing a deep understanding of theory, problem-solving, and real-life applications — not just memorizing formulas.

Q: How do you approach explaining complex physics concepts to students in a way that they can understand?

I focus on making physics visual, relatable, and logical. When a concept feels abstract, I start by connecting it to everyday experiences — for example, explaining energy using the idea of money transfer or showing motion concepts through short video demonstrations. I also use simple experiments on camera, drawings, and analogies to help students truly understand, not just memorize. Once the idea clicks, I guide them through step-by-step examples and problem-solving until they can explain it back in their own words with confidence.

Q: Do you have experience with students who struggle with physics, and how do you support them in their learning?

Yes, many of my students initially struggled with physics or even disliked it. I start by identifying where the difficulty comes from — whether it’s weak math skills, misunderstanding of basic concepts, or lack of confidence. Then I rebuild the foundation step by step using simple language, visuals, and real-life examples before moving to harder topics. I keep the lessons interactive and encouraging, so students stop fearing mistakes and start seeing progress. Over time, they not only improve their grades but often begin to enjoy physics and feel proud of understanding it.

Q: How do you ensure that your physics lessons are aligned with the student's school curriculum or syllabus?

Before starting, I always review the student’s school syllabus, textbooks, and exam structure to understand exactly what’s required. I then plan lessons that follow the same sequence and learning objectives while adding my own explanations, examples, and extra exercises for deeper understanding. I also coordinate progress with upcoming school exams and homework, so every session directly supports what the student is studying in class — ensuring full alignment with their curriculum.

Q: What is your teaching methodology and how do you structure your physics lessons to meet the needs of individual students?

My teaching method is student-centered and adaptive. I start by assessing each student’s current understanding, strengths, and weak points. Then I design lessons that match their pace — beginning with a clear explanation of the concept, followed by real-life analogies, demonstrations, and guided problem-solving. Each session includes short practice questions to test understanding, and I assign tailored homework to reinforce learning. I regularly review progress and adjust the plan so every student feels challenged but never overwhelmed. My goal is to build both deep understanding and confidence in every topic.

Q: Can you give examples of how you make physics interesting and engaging for students?

I make physics engaging by showing how it exists all around us. For example, I explain motion through sports, energy through money transfer, and waves using sound or music. I often demonstrate small experiments on camera or use simple household items to visualize the lesson. I also encourage students to predict outcomes and reason before I explain, which turns the class into discovery rather than memorization. This approach makes physics feel alive — not just a subject, but a way to understand how the world works.
