Questions for You

Q: What age range of students do you usually work with?

All ages from secondary school upward.

Q: How do you approach lesson planning and preparation?

I plan carefully, keeping the student's requirements uppermost in my mind. I draw on the sizeable bank of materials that I have collected during my twenty years as a teacher of English. When needed, I create fresh material. Lessons are designed to secure maximum engagement and enjoyment on the part of the student.

Q: How do you measure progress and assess learning outcomes for your students?

Mock tests for students engaged in test preparation. Otherwise, assessment is made on the basis of in-class tasks and homework.

Q: Do you provide regular homework and assignments, and how do you review and provide feedback on student work?

Yes. Homework is marked, and the marking is explained in class as necessary. Needless to say, I am flexible in the case of students whose time for homework is limited - professional people with full-time jobs, for example.

Q: What technology or resources do you use to enhance your lessons, particularly for online sessions?

Audio and video.

Q: Do you provide any additional support outside of scheduled lesson times, such as answering questions via email or phone?

I am happy to answer queries sent by email or Line.

Q: Do you have any specific strategies for motivating students who may be struggling or disengaged with the subject material?

Humour. Laughter can be very useful in relaxing students and securing engagement.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning differences or special needs?

No.
