Questions for You

Q: How do you keep yourself updated with the latest programming languages and technologies?

I set myself some independent learning time each week. During this time, I contribute to open source projects, brush up on some techniques or technologies I have not utilized in a while, or learn something new altogether. My favourite resources for learning and inspiration are wikis,

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials for learning, such as practice exercises or coding challenges?

Yes! I provide Jupyter notebooks with "fill in the blank" exercises, as well as credited external learning resources.

Q: What kind of projects or coding assignments have you helped students with in the past?

I have helped people learn programming from scratch, and I have helped beginner programmers write complex codebases such as neural networks and simulations.

Q: What tools and resources do you use to teach coding?

Jupyter notebooks, open datasets, slides, and handwritten notes.

Q: Can you provide some examples of coding projects that you have worked on with students in the past?

I have helped several students implement a complex neural network that would recognize single digits.

Q: Can you teach advanced coding topics, such as algorithm design or data structures?

Yes!

Q: How do you handle students who may be struggling with time management when it comes to completing coding assignments?

Coding is fun, but it can be very time-consuming. Each person has their own set of struggles. In my experience, the biggest struggle for students is unclear directions. My tutoring includes how to look up resources independently, and how to go through coding assignments in a structured and efficient way

Q: What kind of feedback do you provide to students on their coding assignments, and how often?

Feedback heavily depends on the student's level. I like to go through simple homework each session, and only correct the mistakes regarding concepts we went through together.
