Hello :) I have been tutoring at a tuition centre for 3 years. For primary levels I offer science and chinese. For secondary levels I offer biology, chemistry and geography. My students have done well and I'm really happy of that. I believe that we should be giving students at opportunity to connect content knowledge to real life experiences. I am currently an undergraduate at NUS, pursuing in Environmental studies.

I have almost 10 years of tutoring experience. I started tutoring since I was in grade 11. I have tutored students at the level of middle school, high school, university (undergraduate), and medical school. I am very focused and goal-oriented and like to finish the lessons/assignments in a given time period, while at the same time engaging the students and making sure they understand the concept(s) thoroughly. The students are generally very satisfied with my tutoring techniques and describe me as a very calm and thorough tutor.

Stop the Brain Freeze! I am Pragya Sharma! I graduated in Biochemistry (Honours) from Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. I further went on to pursue my master’s degree in Medical Biochemistry from Jamia Hamdard, Delhi. I am currently pursuing Doctorate in Biological Sciences from Queen’s University, Belfast, United Kingdom. During all these years I realised that the classes I appreciated most were not necessarily the topics I was most interested in, rather it was the professors who made the classes enjoyable and interesting. All these professors had one thing in common, they were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching and moreover were willing to go an extra mile when asked for additional help and clarification. I will carry the same approach and knowledge to my tutoring sessions and do everything to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teaching the material. The biggest strategy I strictly adhere in my sessions is “Revise the old; learn the new”. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and the student’s individual needs. I currently demonstrate on module for biomedical science and in total have eight years of tutoring experience. I want to benefit the students I work with best of my capabilities therefore, I am open to any additional resources and suggestions from both students and parents. I am a passionate tutor who loves biology and I love helping children learn more about biology, chemistry, and science in general from pre-K to 12th grade. I can help them with any subject that they might find difficult to understand by explaining the subject to them in various ways, especially in ways that will help them be involved and active in their own learning. I also have a son with autism whom I home-school as well, so I am aware of the many diverse needs and attention that autistic children might need to help them become passionate about learning science.
