I am from Shanghai, China. Before I came to Canada to pursue my Master's degree in Education, I worked as a language teacher for more than ten years. I have a strong interest in literature, and I studied Chinese as an undergraduate. During my university years, I read a lot of books on Chinese and foreign literature, including ancient Chinese, during which I laid a solid foundation in literature. After work, I have been working as a language teacher, years of teaching practice has enriched my experience, and at the same time, it also gives me the opportunity to combine theory and practice, and gradually formed my own set of teaching methods and styles. I love education, becoming a teacher is my ideal, I hope to be able to bring students not only knowledge, but also a kind of knowledge and experience of the world, feel the beauty of the world, and find their own value and path.

I am a bilingual Chinese language speaker with a strong foundation in teaching both basic Chinese and HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) exam preparation. With a passion for language learning and cross-cultural communication, I specialize in helping beginners build essential vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills, as well as guiding students through the structure and requirements of HSK levels 1-3.

Born in China Mainland, educated in Hong Kong, Kristin is a multi-linguist equipped with two Master degrees in Cultural Management and Visual Culture Studies from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a BA in Communication/Journalism from Beijing Normal University, China. In 2012, Kristin has attended the Putonghua Proficiency Test at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and has received the Grade of Second Class Upper. Kristin has over 5 years of language teaching experiences in Hong Kong. Her past experience includes designing, developing and coaching Putonghua curriculum at Colour My World for 3 year, Chinese private tutoring over 5 years for students at Canadian International School, Kellett School, Hong Kong Academy, Korean International School, South Island School, Glenealy School, St.Stephen’s College Preparatory School, Pui Kiu College, St. Paul's Convent School and Victoria Kindergarten. Throughout her experience, Kristin also facilitated language training for partially-hearing persons. Adopting experimental learning theories, Kristin is confident of and experienced with enhancing her students’ past learning style with effective and innovative methods to help them to listen, comprehend, speak, read and write in Chinese. For young students, She designs the curriculum through drama games, role play, storytelling, prose reading and introduction of Chinese culture. For senior local and international students she supports and reinforces academic requirements (HKDSE/IB/IGCSE) at their respective levels. My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the student's personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and long-lasting understanding of the subject.
