My name is Frank (Lifu), I am 23 years old. I immigrated to Canada when I was just 10 years old. I completed my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at McMaster University with a 3.7/4.0 GPA. I recently took a full-time position with a top structural engineering consulting firm in Hong Kong. I am very passionate in inspiring the young generation and enjoy teaching others. Thus, I consider this to be a hobby and not a job. Since moving to Canada, I mainly speak English but can also speak Mandarin. I am passionate in subjects like Math, Physics and English. Since I studied abroad starting in elementary and all the way through university, I can provide a lot of insight on the schooling experience in Canada. Although I do not have any formal training on teaching, I have had plenty of practice helping my classmates with homework assignments and test preparation. Understanding I lack in tutoring experience, I am willing to provide the first lesson at a discounted rate to gauge my level of effectiveness.
With a busy work schedule throughout the week, I can only help on the weekends. Preferably less than 3 hours a week. I am located in Causeway Bay; I am able to conduct online tutoring as well as home tutoring at the student’s place. However, I prefer teaching in person, as I believe it is more effective. For technical subjects like Math and Physics, I think the best way to learn is by practice. I also think understanding the fundamental theory first and then applying is critical. It is not an effective way to learn if you just memorize an equation. Truly understanding theory behind equations and why things are done in a certain way will dramatically improve the application of your knowledge. اقرأ أقل
