I believe that to be an effective science teacher one must also be an effective learner, which is why I continue to develop and challenge myself. I am excited by the prospect of working with young people in Birmingham and online in demonstrating an innate desire to help young individuals learn about science.
Young people respond to humour and warmth positively and it’s especially important to be able to communicate clearly by explaining concepts in steps with illustration or analogy. This requires imagination and enthusiasm in equal measure to detailed knowledge of science. Other qualities I have are resilience and patience just to name a few.
