أسئلة لك

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Math concepts and solve problems?

My teaching philosophy centers on using past paper questions to learn concepts within the syllabus. Through one-on-one instruction and targeted practice problems, students can familiarise themselves with the type of questions that will appear in a real exam. For younger children, building a foundation is crucial, so I ensure that students understand core principles before moving forward.

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

I have experience teaching both online and face-to-face. Although my preferred method is face-to-face, I understand that it may be difficult to attend depending on location and thus also provide online lessons. This may be a more convenient and comfortable options for some students.

Q: What Math topics or concepts are you particularly skilled in teaching, and how do you keep up to date with changes in the curriculum?

Foundational/basic maths skills, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, functions, calculus

Q: How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and any challenges they may be facing in learning Math?

Depending on the age, I would tailor check-ins with the parents in order to update them on their child's progress. For younger students, once or twice a month is necessary as they are still building a foundation in their learning therefore careful monitoring is recommended as every child has a different pace. For older students, a check-in every couple months is more effective as more complex topics require more time to understand and consolidate.

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials to supplement your lessons, such as practice exercises or online tutorials?

For older years, I am able to provide past paper questions depending on their curriculum. Moreover, I provide consolidated notes that are tailored to what they are learning to use as a reference.

Q: What is your approach to homework assignments, and how do you ensure students understand the concepts covered in class?

At the start of the lesson, I will review any homework given and make sure they understand the concept and method to complete it. If they understand, we will move on and continue learning other concepts in their cirriculum that needs more focus otherwise we will spend the lesson learning the concepts related to the homewwork.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure that your teaching approach is compatible with the student's learning style?

I think its important to constantly review in order to make sure they don't forget certain concpets and methods that are essential. This gives me an idea if they understood my teaching or if they were left confused. With this, I will know to go back and review or if its ok to move on.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, and how do you adapt your teaching methods to accommodate their needs?

I don't have experience teaching students with learning disabilities, however I believe that with this requires patience. Spending more time to explain and being mindful to make sure they grasp the content before moving on is vital.
