I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines, and also earned a Master of Sciences in Chemistry from the same university. Additionally, I received professional certificates in Advanced Chemistry from the University of Kentucky (USA), Teaching in University Science Laboratories (Developing Best Practice) from the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Sustainability and Climate Change from the University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom), Teaching and Learning with Modern ICTs from the University of the Philippines-Open University, and Patent Drafting and Intellectual Property Rights from the University of the Philippines Los Baños-Center for Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship.

With excellent communication skills, I have been teaching general chemistry, university chemistry, organic chemistry, environmental chemistry, pollution chemistry, pesticide chemistry, and biochemistry courses at the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines for 14 years. I have also worked as a chemistry lecturer at De La Salle State University, utilizing a student-centered approach in my teaching.

I became the Head of the Smart-Functional Biomaterials Research Laboratory and have published 38 chemistry-related research papers in international and national journals and conference proceedings, with over 100 citations. My research projects focus on agricultural chemistry, agriculture, weed chemistry, allelopathy, natural products chemistry, organic chemistry, environmental chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, pesticide chemistry, and nanotechnology. I have also served as a journal article reviewer for international and refereed journals and have been involved in revising chemistry laboratory manuals and writing a worktext on the chemistry of agricultural chemicals.

I was awarded the 2018 Outstanding Researcher (Junior Category) from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, the 2016 Outstanding Junior Faculty from the same institution, and the Best Paper Award in the Weed Science Society of the Philippines (WSSP) category at the 44th Pest Management Council of the Philippines Annual Conference. I have also received eight UP System International Publication Awards.

I am a lifetime member of the Kapisanang Kimika ng Pilipinas-Southern Luzon (Chemical Society of the Philippines) and a member of the UPLB Natural Products Research and UPLB Chemical AA (alumni association). I am also a member of the Integrated Chemists of the Philippines. اقرأ أقل
