Hello everyone!! My name is Angela Thompson and I have always had such a love of learning! For as long as I can remember I knew I wanted to teach and help others understand our world a little bit better. I have a BA in Education and have taught middle level Science, Reading, and English; I also have experience teaching 4 year olds in a Head Start setting and have two children of my own. I know how precious our youth is and am honored to work with future generations of great thinkers.

My teaching philosophy holds that personal connections with subjects through inquisitive, engaging lessons nurtures the special gifts and unique capabilities that each individual possesses.

I make an excellent tutor because I care about the progress of each individual. I take into account the varying learning styles and tailor subject matter presentation accordingly. Positive focus is a powerful thing and encouragement is invaluable. I have high expectations of my learners and we all delight in successes as growth is accomplished.

I think one of the most important things a teacher can do is really understand her students. When this is accomplished the subject matter can be presented in a way that is most easily understood and assimilated by the student. Carefully crafted questions can guide students’ natural inquisitive natures and encourage them to take charge of their own learning.
