I am a dedicated and charismatic English/Afrikaans educator with over 34 years of classroom teaching experience across various curricula. I am based in the beautiful city of George, Western Cape.

I am especially passionate about teaching English HL & FAL, as well as Afrikaans HT & EAT. My aim is to help students gain confidence, fluency, and strong communication skills that prepare them for global opportunities.

With a background that includes a Bachelor's Degree in Education along with TEFL (Level 5, Ofqual-certified), CiSELT, and COELT training, I am well-versed in the demands of remote education. I deliver high-quality, engaging online lessons using platforms like Zoom and MS Teams, supported by thoughtful pacing, digital interactivity, and differentiated instruction. Known for my warmth, adaptability, and creative teaching style, I go the extra mile to ensure every student feels supported. My goal is to create an online classroom where learners thrive academically, socially, and emotionally—through clear communication, continuous feedback, and meaningful connections.

While I bring extensive classroom experience, I am genuinely excited to transition into full-time online education. I approach this new chapter with openness, energy, and a strong desire to learn. I am committed to mastering the digital classroom and applying everything I’ve gained from decades of teaching to support and inspire learners in virtual spaces around the world. The methodology I use to teach language includes Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Total Physical Response (TPR), Task-Based Learning (TBL), Code-Switching (Strategic), Reading/Writing Workshops, Peer Teaching & Group Work, Scaffolded Instruction, Multisensory Learning, Storytelling & Oral Tradition, as well as Blended Learning/Tech Tools.
