I am Alex, and currently I am a biochemistry doctoral (PhD) student at the University of Oxford. I have more than 10 years of experience in private and small group teaching in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. At Oxford, I am teaching Biochemistry undergraduate students Mathematics & Statistics.

The high school syllabi that I have tutored includes:

- GCE A-Level (including IAL)
- International Baccalaureate (IB)
- (I)GCSE
- HKDSE
- Advanced Placement (AP)

I also offer ad hoc tutoring for university students studying biosciences and chemistry (specifically for biologists). Moreover, I can provide assistance in proofreading lab reports and research reports.

My educational background is as follows:

- BSc degree from University College London (UCL) [earned top of the class]
- MSc degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zürich)
- DPhil (PhD) degree from the University of Oxford [in progress]

I employ an exam-focus approach that emphasises on the key learning points of the syllabus, but I try to avoid hard memorisation if possible. I tend to supplement extra knowledge that helps understanding for, particularly motivated students. I set ample exercise, in exam styles, as homework.
