I have been a teacher for over 8 years in Thailand, and I have experience teaching Thai students from kindergarten to high school and adults too. I have vast experience and knowledge of IELTS and TOEFL test. I help students navigate through the exam. For example, in Ielts I approach listening with sections. I help my students to practice section 1,2,3,4 independently culminating in good understanding hence the best band score the student can attain. In writing, I focus on IELTS vocabulary, linking structures, the nitty-gritty of making a beginner writer to write a decent Task 1 and Task 2 without forgetting structure and techniques to able to get 150words and 250words under 1hour.

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.

I am a Canadian English teacher who has had successful careers in the hospitality industry, business communications, and corporate writing. Additionally, I have over 30 years of experience teaching English and training language teachers around the world. I hold my DELTA certification and have been a teacher trainer for CELTA, Trinity College London, TEFL International, and various other organizations. I have designed language programs for universities in South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and the UK. I have also developed language training for regional educational boards in China and for SAFEA - the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. Furthermore, I have authored books on teaching English, served on the TESOL Spain Board of Directors, and have been a keynote speaker at numerous conferences. I have trained both native-speaking and non-native English teachers to work in public schools in various countries such as China, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Spain, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, the UK, and Vietnam. I have taught English students in approximately 20 countries and possess an understanding of the language weaknesses and needs of various nationalities, including Russian, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and more. I am familiar with numerous techniques and methodologies that can assist you in achieving your language goals quickly.
