I enrolled in Advanced Microeconomics, Public Economics and Behavioural Economics to enrich my theoretical knowledge, and enrolled in Advanced Econometrics and Official Statistics to learn advanced empirical knowledge about how to analyse data in an appropriate method in different situations. Honour’s has been successful in cultivating my interest in empirical aspects. In Official Statistics and Econometrics courses, the main content was learning some advanced data analysis approaches, and using some coding programme (Stata, MATLAB and R) to analyse some policies and issues, as well as giving some relevant suggestions. As an undergraduate Biochemistry student at Imperial College London, I gradually started to feel that Maths is undoubtedly a very important skill in multiple areas. It is very important for us to build a robust foundation early on in order to support higher education in the future. Working with Kumon as a tutor, during 2016-2017, has helped me consolidate my ambition of making a difference in others’ lives.
