Hey, My name is Sohum. I am currently doing my Masters in teaching at the University of Toronto and I am qualified to teach from Grades 1-10. I have an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Toronto and a post graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science from Senenca. I have 4 years of tutoring experience working with a variety of grades and subjects such as Math, English and Science. I am located in East York.

I hold a Ph.D. in pure mathematics and have been teaching mathematics for around 20 years at different levels. I am now working as a researcher in the field of mathematics education and my main project is to how to make mathematics interesting to students. A few of the simple teaching techniques that I use include: 1. Teaching by using worked examples. 2. Creating colorful posters to summarize each section covered, which includes ALL formulas. 3. Administering mock tests at the end of each section. 4. Allowing students to complete 10-minute mini tests at the end of every lesson, focusing on the material learned during that particular lesson. 5. Going through past papers set by the Department of Education as a final revision before assessments.

My teaching experiences is more on Algebra. I love teaching and my goal is to teach mathematics in an easier and simpler way. I experienced teaching mathematics from elementary to senior high school and it makes me happy to guide and help students in learning the subject better.
