Hello! My name is Annabelle, and I am an English tutor based in Jakarta Utara, Indonesia. I specialize in English Language, English Literature, academic writing, essay writing, reading comprehension, and literary analysis for primary and secondary school students.
As a recent International Baccalaureate (IB) graduate who took English at Higher Level and Psychology, I have developed strong skills in critical thinking, communication, literary analysis, and academic writing. Through my studies, I have gained insight into how people learn, think, and develop confidence, which helps me create lessons that are both engaging and effective. Having recently navigated the challenges of school examinations and essay writing myself, I understand how to explain difficult concepts in a clear, relatable, and approachable way.
One thing that sets me apart is my genuine passion for teaching and working with children. I enjoy helping young learners build confidence in their abilities and discover their potential. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing a love for learning.
In addition to my academic background, I founded and led a community service project called Table Talk, where I taught practical English communication skills to restaurant employees who regularly interacted with international customers. I designed learning materials, conducted lessons, and adapted my teaching methods to suit learners with different levels of English proficiency. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, teach patiently, and make learning enjoyable and accessible.
My teaching approach is highly personalized because I believe every student learns differently. Rather than focusing solely on memorization, I help students develop strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and confidence in using English. Whether a student needs support with grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, essay writing, literary analysis, school assignments, or examination preparation, I tailor each lesson to their individual needs and goals.
As both a student and a tutor, I understand the challenges learners face and strive to make lessons engaging, practical, and rewarding.
