Hello! I'm Naomilyn Fernandez and I'm a professional licensed teacher major in Biological Science. I held four classes with different levels in my internship days having a flat 1 rating. Having interactive activities and expirement is my specialty. Learning is my passion and to teach people not lesson. I can easily adapt to different way of learning and make the learning fun and enjoyable.

I have almost 10 years of tutoring experience. I started tutoring since I was in grade 11. I have tutored students at the level of middle school, high school, university (undergraduate), and medical school. I am very focused and goal-oriented and like to finish the lessons/assignments in a given time period, while at the same time engaging the students and making sure they understand the concept(s) thoroughly. The students are generally very satisfied with my tutoring techniques and describe me as a very calm and thorough tutor.

Stop the Brain Freeze! I am Pragya Sharma! I graduated in Biochemistry (Honours) from Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. I further went on to pursue my master’s degree in Medical Biochemistry from Jamia Hamdard, Delhi. I am currently pursuing Doctorate in Biological Sciences from Queen’s University, Belfast, United Kingdom. During all these years I realised that the classes I appreciated most were not necessarily the topics I was most interested in, rather it was the professors who made the classes enjoyable and interesting. All these professors had one thing in common, they were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching and moreover were willing to go an extra mile when asked for additional help and clarification. I will carry the same approach and knowledge to my tutoring sessions and do everything to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teaching the material. The biggest strategy I strictly adhere in my sessions is “Revise the old; learn the new”. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and the student’s individual needs. I currently demonstrate on module for biomedical science and in total have eight years of tutoring experience. I want to benefit the students I work with best of my capabilities therefore, I am open to any additional resources and suggestions from both students and parents. I am an experienced Biology/Chemistry Tutor in Toronto. I earned my PhD in Biology (Molecular Virology) from the University of Turku in Finland. Since then, I have successfully completed postdoctoral research fellowships at the University of Helsinki, University of Montreal, the internationally recognized Goodman Cancer Research Centre at the McGill University, and most recently in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto. Throughout my academic career, I have had the privilege of tutoring, mentoring, and supervising high-school, undergraduate and graduate students, nurturing the next generation of scientific talent. I am a passionate tutor who loves biology and I love helping children learn more about biology, chemistry, and science in general from pre-K to 12th grade. I can help them with any subject that they might find difficult to understand by explaining the subject to them in various ways, especially in ways that will help them be involved and active in their own learning. I also have a son with autism whom I home-school as well, so I am aware of the many diverse needs and attention that autistic children might need to help them become passionate about learning science.
