I am a junior high school science and high school biology tutor with a background in biology education. I am based in Indonesia and can teach both face-to-face and online. For junior high school, I teach science in an integrated manner, helping students understand fundamental concepts sequentially. For high school, I focus on biology, including in-depth study, exam preparation, and analytical and reasoning-based practice questions. What sets me apart is my learning approach, which emphasizes conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. I guide students through conceptual development, linking the material to everyday life, and practicing scientific thinking to increase their confidence in solving problems based on HOTS (Hot and State-of-the-Art) questions. I have taught Biology for 30 years, but I have specifically taught both IB Biology and ESS at a renowned International School in Hong Kong for 20 years. Additionally, I hold an MSc. in Infectious Disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

I am an EdUHK Sciences - Biology major. I completed my Neurobiology courses in Seattle, USA and at Moscow State University. I have achieved an IELTS score of 7.5 and an SAT score of 1500.

Hello! My name is Shalmalee, and I am very excited to help you succeed in Biology! I am originally from India but grew up in Dubai. I completed my higher education in London and Germany. I am currently starting my Ph.D. at VUmc. My expertise in Biology comes from my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Kingston University London and my Master's degree in genomic medicine from Imperial College London. I have worked on stem cells and genetic engineering at EMBL Heidelberg. In the past, I worked with a company in Germany to help pharmaceutical companies identify novel drug targets. Currently, I am the recipient of a prestigious Marie-Curie Ph.D. fellowship granted by the European Commission. I will be using it to conduct research on disease biomarkers and immunology-related topics. I have always loved teaching and simplifying complex biological concepts using visualization. Therefore, I mainly focus on concept-based learning, which eventually leads to connecting various concepts to answer exam-style questions for optimal results.
