Hi, I'm Mara and I have been an English language tutor since 2018. I have been living in Amsterdam since 2021. Whether you are trying to study for a specific level exam, improve your academic performance in English, or simply want to speak better English in general, I am excited to help you out! I have experience both online and offline, with groups and individuals of all ages and levels. My youngest student ever was three, and my oldest were a group of beginner adults of various ages, up to 50 years old, all sharing a wonderful willingness to learn new things and even have some fun along the way. As for my other qualifications, I recently graduated Cum Laude from the University of Amsterdam with an English language degree in Literary Analysis. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Language and Literature Education. Learning and teaching have always been my two passions, and I would love to have the opportunity to work with as many students as possible before I obtain my final teaching certificate. I was born in London. My father was French, and my mother was Italian. I speak fluent Japanese and Italian, so I know a bit about languages. I am studying French, so I also know a bit about learning a language and the tricks involved. Fifty percent of the mission is the material. I have these materials. I started teaching when I was going to university in Tokyo. I taught one-on-one classes for 15 years before transitioning into finance. I worked in finance for 15 years, specifically at UBS, HSBC, and BNP Paribas, all in Tokyo. I specialized in institutional equity sales. Currently, I live in Bangkok, and I am semi-retired.
