Hi, I’m an experienced and approachable tutor based in the Netherlands, offering support in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English, and Geography. I have been studying at the British School in the Netherlands since Year 8 and am familiar with both the British curriculum and the IB. I achieved 8s and 9s in 11 GCSE subjects, including all three sciences, Maths, English Language and Literature, Geography, Dutch, Drama, Photography, and Bengali. In the IB, I was predicted a 43, with 7s in Higher Level Biology and Chemistry, and a 6 in Higher Level Maths. Over the past three years, I have worked with students at various levels. My approach centres on developing both subject understanding and strong exam technique. This combination has proven effective: I have personally gone from 4s and 5s in Year 10 to mostly 9s by the end of Year 11. More importantly, I’ve supported students in doing the same. One student I worked with improved from a grade 3 to a grade 7 in just five months. I am also currently tutoring a Year 10 student who is consistently achieving 8s and 9s in sciences, English, and Geography. I tailor each session to meet the student’s needs and learning goals. I am flexible with scheduling and always make an effort to provide extra support around exam time. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Geography from Bournemouth University, UK, and a Master's Degree in Environmental Management from The University of Hong Kong. However the truth of how much effort is put in is only known by the student when looking into a mirror and asking the question, "Am I really buying into the system?" Today's youth are overwhelmed with masses of information and choices to make. A good education will give some clarity and the direction to pursue. I am of the opinion that if you are not having some fun whilst learning, then something is wrong. With me learning is fun. Todays over emphasis of Mathematics and Science places tremendous pressure on the the students. We have to realise that not all of us are going to become pilots, engineers, doctors etc. The human interaction side of life is being lost, this is surely one of the greatest tragedies of today. Geography is a subject to be experienced, we interact unknowningly with Geography every day. History, have we learned from our past? Critical thinking, interpretation, analysis, motivation? Tourism, the worlds biggest industry! Life Orientation, underrated, teaches us to resolve conflict, decision making, careers, personal wellbeing. I have enpathy for today's students and nurture the individual, mentoring students on their performance and the way forward.

I have a bachelor’s degree in education with courses that focused on cultural and human geography and history but most of my attention was focused on physical geography and maps. I successfully completed an internship where I worked in the classroom and learned much about creating curriculum and child development. I have a state license to teach and the knowledge and skills to create lesson plans that adhere to your schools standards. I also have the ability to create tests and exams to measure how well the students are learning.
