I am an HBO Applied Mathematics student based in the Alkmaar region, offering tutoring in mathematics for primary school, secondary school, higher education students outside STEM disciplines, and adult learners seeking to strengthen their quantitative skills.
My strongest areas are algebra, calculus and geometry/trigonometry. I am comfortable adapting explanations across different levels, from foundational concepts to more advanced problem-solving, depending on the learner’s needs.
My teaching approach is flexible and focused on building intuitive understanding rather than memorization. I aim to make mathematical concepts accessible by breaking them down into clear, logical steps and connecting them to practical reasoning where possible. Sessions are adapted to individual goals, whether that is exam preparation, improving general understanding, or strengthening problem-solving skills.
I have prior experience in peer tutoring and combine this with my academic background in applied mathematics. This allows me to bridge theoretical concepts with practical applications, including coding-based approaches for students interested in computational aspects of mathematics.
Outside of mathematics, I have a strong interest in gaming and broader “nerd culture,” which I often use to make learning more engaging and relatable. Where appropriate, I incorporate examples and problem contexts based on a student’s interests to help build understanding and maintain motivation.
I offer both online and in-person tutoring in Dutch and English. Read less

Each session follows a structured approach: recap, identifying difficulties, goal setting, guided examples, independent exercises, and review. Understanding is assessed via conversation and homework, with a short diagnostic if needed. Support adapts through hints, Socratic questioning, or full explanations. Mistakes are addressed with reteaching and targeted practice. Difficulty is adjusted to level, with interactive questioning throughout, ending with review and next-step planning. Read less
