Hi, I am Miss Rehana, a teacher and tutor. I was the lead teacher at a homework center in Umbilo, and I am now operating from my residence. I teach and tutor children from grade RRR up to grade 12. I am a certified ESL teacher and a certified Phonics Instructor. I was awarded a certificate for outstanding performance at the homework center. Additionally, I have diplomas in ECD and Special Needs Education. I also tutor mathematics up to grade 9, as well as Afrikaans and other subjects. I have over three years of experience teaching students between ages of 5 to 15 English and sports. The best teacher is consistency. Someone or something that can engage children to learn at least an hour a day. Learning should be fun, in order to prevent students from losing interest. As a graphic designer, I am able to create worksheets that target the following: - Vocabulary - Grammar - Reading - Sentence structure - Creative writing I also design and hand out ‘cards’, that consist of mythical characters, their powers and short stories about them. By showing young students cool images, this can drive their curiosity and desire to read, learn and understand the story behind certain characters. Hello all! I'm an English tutor with 5 years of combined experience teaching learners of all ages. I began teaching English as a Second Language in the United States while finishing my Biology degree at the University of Colorado. After graduation, I started teaching English courses at Theodore International School and later moved to Bangkok, where I taught at Australian International School. I primarily covered Secondary IGCSE Chemistry, Physics, and Biology courses but continued working as a private Math and English tutor in my free time. I currently work as a freelance Data Analyst with a focus on E-commerce and blockchain technology. Learning English doesn't have to be painful! I am a dedicated and experienced registered teacher (PCEd)with 16 years of teaching experience in Maryknoll Convent School (Secondary Section) in Kowloon Tong. Before returning to the teaching profession, I spent 5 years in the business field gaining credit experience in a Japanese bank and servicing experience in Shun Hing serving Panasonic & related brands. Actually, I started teaching at Hang Seng School of Commerce after obtaining B.Soc.Sc. in the University of Hong Kong. In the 16 years I spent at Maryknoll Convent School, I started teaching junior English and EPA and marked over 1,000 compositions in the first 2 years and took care of around 7 classes of EPA each year. Starting 1998, I was given the responsibility to hold a Principles of Accounts Panel and the subsequent BAFS Panel in 2008. I left in 2012 after finishing the first year DSE BAFS and my last year of HKAL PA in 2012. Luckily, my first year BAFS students were exceptionally hard-working and very focused in their learning. Despite hardships and uncertainties during the three years of preparation, my last year BAFS students worked a small miracle by achieving Rank #1 school (MCS) in BAFS in the first year of DSE (2012). From 2012 -2022, I worked part-time for Wisdom Corner teaching Language Arts, Mathematics and BAFS & Yr 1&2 Financial and Cost Accounting. Now, I am ready to pass on my experience to students who can focus learning via online lessons, which to a certain extent proves to be more effective since it saves time on travelling for both parties. By the way, various useful subject materials can be presented on screen once required, and the finished exercises can be sent via WhatsApp or Skype and can be marked immediately on screen and returned without delay. Basically, my lessons can be recorded and retrieved anytime.
