I am an experienced English tutor, with 2 years of tutoring under my belt. Not only do I have a Bachelors of Social Sciences from UCT, majoring in History and English, but a lifelong passion for both subjects as well as Mathematics. Although some students find difficulty or lack of interest in these subjects, I’ve learned to use creative teaching methods that are engaging and fun for the students to keep them interested and engaged while learning. Colourful and easy to read notes are included for students to look over on their own time if they need to. Each student learns in different ways, and I make sure to take this into account while forming customized lessons that will provide a deeper understanding and elevate his or her success in the subject. I live in Norwood, Johannesburg (close to Melrose Arch) but I have a car and am happy to drive out to a more convenient location. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in New York, a Master’s in Education (Differentiated Instruction of At-Risk Learners) from Marian University in Wisconsin and a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Management (With Distinction) from Capella University in Minnesota. I am engaging and thoughtful, and very good about providing holistic comments, advice and feedback to my students. I use my courses to encourage critical thinking and reflection. I also require differentiation and active learning plans from my students, using the current best practices to guide and mentor my pre-service teachers. I use educational technologies such as Zoom to supplement the course work with group or one on one instruction. I am the author of the book, The Prayers of David: 40 Conversations with the man after God’s own heart, published by the Museum of the Bible Devotional Series/Worthy Press, available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

I am a professional actress and lecturer. Previous projects have included the publication of my book, 'Speaking Through the Multitude, Composition 1, 2 ' 3 & 4...' on sale globally at Barnes&Noble, The Whitechapel and Serpentine Gallery bookstores. My second book, which is the script and score of a new musical, 'Chiara and Luna', is also available on Amazon Global. I have written several articles for ArtReview and I have worked as an editorial assistant for the academic journal 'Art and the Public Sphere', the editorial board for which are professors worldwide. I have travelled extensively. I am active and energetic; I dance and practice yoga regularly.
