Hi. You can call me Ms. Joey. I passed the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers last 2017; I took my oath and got my license afterwards. I am focused on working with children of primary school age (4-11) and targeting their understanding of the curriculum. I am a history specialist, but as a teacher, I have a solid understanding of the primary curriculum and can tutor any subject that your child is struggling with. I have a BA in Primary Education and have gained QTS in this field. I am responsible for the learning of 30+ children at any time, but I love the personalized tuition I can provide when tutoring. I've always loved to learn and I am still eager to learn new things. I believe that with support, any child can be inspired to love learning and embrace the "light-bulb" moment when a topic they have struggled with in school suddenly becomes simple in a tutoring session. I also have experience with the Kent placement tests, both tutoring students in preparation for these and personally passing them. I am a prospective student at UCL Laws (I have deferred my entry to 2021 due to the Covid-19 situation), and have been studying in the UK for the past 4 years. I am willing to tutor Year 3-8 English/ Mathematics. In my GCSEs, I have attained 11 A*s including 9 in English Literature/ Mathematics and an 8 in English Language (which is equivalent to an A*). As for my A-Levels I have achieved A*AA in my final grades. I have been tutoring two Primary school students (Year 3 and 6) English reading and writing for a while, primarily focusing on improving their English pronunciations and vocabulary. Instead of doing endless exam-drilling exercises, I like to focus on helping students develop a set of skills/ methods that allows them to revise more efficiently and effectively, especially in English.
