Nice to meet you! My name is Kate, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in Grenaa, Denmark, in 2020. Prior to that, I obtained an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program Diploma from Riga State Gymnasium No. 2 in Riga, Latvia. During my academic journey, I developed a strong passion for mathematics and biological sciences. In my final two years of high school, I dedicated my time to volunteering as a tutor for refugee children in Grenaa, Denmark. Drawing from my own experiences as both a tutor and a student receiving tutoring during my early schooling, I deeply understand the dynamics and rewards of academic support and achievement through diligence. Furthermore, I have expanded my knowledge in educational psychology by completing two courses during my Bachelor's studies. These courses have equipped me with valuable insights into effective tutoring strategies, enhancing my ability to support and empower students in their academic endeavors.

I am currently a master's student in astrophysics at UvA. I am well-versed in bachelor-level topics of Mathematics and Physics. I completed my bachelor's from the Indian Institute of Technology, one of the top institutes in India. I am currently staying in Nieuw West, Amsterdam. I believe that learning a subject is not just about memorizing equations and definitions, but rather, it is more about understanding the underlying concepts. This is something I have been doing for many years, and it has only made me stronger in the subject. I also believe that instead of simply learning what is in the book, if students are able to understand the practical applications of these theories in the real world, they will be able to relate to them effortlessly, which will make them stronger in the subject. I incorporate these principles into my teaching methods so that I can effectively convey as much information as possible.

As an international Mathematics and English language teacher, I've worked in 31 countries on 3 continents, over a period of 25 years. I've taught some of the richest and some of the poorest children and young adults in these countries. I'm a multi-culture person with roots in few European countries and South Africa. Presently I run a pre and primary school in Zambia, Africa, where I teach all subjects to junior high-school level - following the Cambridge or Abeka curriculum.

I was in boarding school overseas for three years, and as a result of this, I had to work very independently, creating new and effective ways to understand my school work.
