Hello! My name is Kate. I was born in Thailand and have lived in New York and Florida for the past 40 years. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with honors, and I served in the United States Navy for 4 years.

Professionally, I have worked as a quality assurance analyst, as well as a transition support specialist, assisting international registered nurses in obtaining their American licensure and relocating to a city within the United States.

My teaching methodology is to first help make my students comfortable with me. Students learn better when they are relaxed and uninhibited.

I will assign passages to my students and have them listen as I read the passage to them. They will then read the passage to me. I gently bring attention to the words and phrases that need work and have my students keep a notebook of the areas and words they need to practice.

We will also play games and use videos and movies to enhance their experience. Read less
