I am Felix from Korea, who studied Math Major at HKUST with an IBDP score of 40/45 in May 2018, achieving a 7 in IB Math AA HL with 90%/89%/88% on paper 1, paper 2, and paper 3, respectively. I was able to accomplish this without tutoring, so I understand not only how to excel in IB Math but also the methods and habits needed for effective studying.

It's not just about time and effort when it comes to achieving better grades; it's about studying efficiently. Spending 10 hours studying with no improvement indicates a lack of foundation, while studying for 2 hours with significant progress shows efficient studying. 2. Structured modules. IB consists of Calculus, Statistics & Probabilities, Trigonometry, and Vectors (only for HL). If you structure these modules, learning becomes easier.
