I am an English Language Lecturer with over 15 years of solid experience teaching English to students in higher education in Malaysia. I am also a British Council trained trainer for IELTS exam preparation. Additionally, I have previously trained English teachers from MOE Vietnam on ELT Methodologies & Communication Skills. Furthermore, I have trained students of all levels in Public Speaking to enhance their communication skills and self-confidence, helping them to be bold and professional when addressing an audience. As an Indian with Tamil as my mother tongue, I also teach basic Tamil to children who are interested in exploring their culture and traditions through language. I have been working in the teaching field for five years. After graduating with my bachelor's degree in early education in 2016, I briefly became a substitute teacher for an elementary school. I loved working with the kids and assisting in the learning process, but I didn't feel like I was making enough of a difference as a substitute teacher. I ended up becoming a tutor instead, so I could have more one-on-one interaction with students. I much prefer this type of environment because I get to watch them grow and learn over time.
