My name is Brittney and I tutor English from online for optimal convinience. My passion for the English language has led me to teach it to others online. I have a degree in Communications and completed it with a 3.6/4.0 GPA, as well as a TESOL certification. My main studies in university focused on Canadian literature, essay writing, media, and story writing. I seek to be the very best for my students and not only will they become more familiar with their cirruculum, but I am able to accomodate all learning types into dynamic sessions for optimal engagement. After a few short questions I am able to assess the students ability within the subject and the ways that they learn best- not everyone performs well under standardized teaching methods. I research heavily before beginning a session to be fully prepared for almost any questions on the topic. I encourage questions and student participation to encourage involvement. It is my goal to make learning a fun and creative process, with active engagement from the students. I will seek out the best strategies to help my students learn, as well as encourage a positive learning enviroment.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in New York, a Master’s in Education (Differentiated Instruction of At-Risk Learners) from Marian University in Wisconsin and a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Management (With Distinction) from Capella University in Minnesota. I taught Middle School Social Studies, English and health for 5 years and was an At-Risk Coordinator for 1 year under my Wisconsin Teaching license. I have also taught American History online to students in China. Currently, I am an online adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University in the College of Education, teaching graduate courses in the Teacher Education program. I am also one of two Clinical Practice Mentors in the College of Education working to integrate the edTPA (Pearson) assessment into the Student Teaching course. I have taught a variety of courses in the Program, including the Student Teaching course. I am also a Faculty Supervisor (Student Teacher Supervisor) for Grand Canyon University and for Western Governors University. I am engaging and thoughtful, and very good about providing holistic comments, advice and feedback to my students. I use my courses to encourage critical thinking and reflection. I also require differentiation and active learning plans from my students, using the current best practices to guide and mentor my pre-service teachers. I use educational technologies such as Zoom to supplement the course work with group or one on one instruction. I am the author of the book, The Prayers of David: 40 Conversations with the man after God’s own heart, published by the Museum of the Bible Devotional Series/Worthy Press, available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

I am a professional actress and lecturer. Previous projects have included the publication of my book, 'Speaking Through the Multitude, Composition 1, 2 ' 3 & 4...' on sale globally at Barnes&Noble, The Whitechapel and Serpentine Gallery bookstores. My second book, which is the script and score of a new musical, 'Chiara and Luna', is also available on Amazon Global. I have written several articles for ArtReview and I have worked as an editorial assistant for the academic journal 'Art and the Public Sphere', the editorial board for which are professors worldwide. I have travelled extensively. I am active and energetic; I dance and practice yoga regularly. I have a keen interest in human rights issues and regularly support the work of War Child and UN Women through my artistic practice.

I am a certified high school English teacher in the state of Florida with 4 years experience in the classroom and nearly 15 years experience as a tutor. My specialty is in writing and analyzing literature. I run an English academic support at my school for struggling students. I help students with text anxiety and teach testing strategies to help students achieve success. I also am knowledgeable in History, Art History, and French.

Annette R. Valdes is a Primary and Secondary Tutor in the boonies of Chicago, IL, who assists students in understanding, learning, absorbing, and succeeding in their studies. Before taking on the role of a tutor/instructor, Annette went back to school to enhance her knowledge. After successfully completing an AAS degree with a 4.0 GPA, she felt confident enough to tackle teaching a homeschooling high school regimen for her two sons. I teach advanced business English. I draw upon a working life of self-employment and an entrepreneurial mindset. I am a trained lawyer and my specialty is the efficiency of the written word. I also like to encourage critical thinking and spontaneous debating on a wide variety of subjects, normally chosen to suit the student. My training focuses on functional communication at a high level of competence and therefore my students tend to have a minimum of B2 English before we begin. I am Scottish but I live in Goettingen Germany. My students tell me that I am easy to talk to and that my lessons are interesting and fun, which makes learning easier and more effective.

I have extensive experience in research, writing, and analysis. My experience comes from earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and English (graduated with Honors). I graduated from law school, where I published a law journal article and worked as editor-in-chief of a law journal. As a lawyer, I utilized written and verbal communication skills in my everyday practice and, particularly, when I wrote, published, and presented numerous articles, chapters, briefs, motions and hearings. My law experience was central to my advancement as a writer and critical thinker. I am furthering my knowledge and experience as a PhD student in Sociology.
