I spent 7 years in the English Department at Chinese International School, teaching from Year 7 to Year 13. I also worked in admissions, conducting English interviews. I'm currently an IB Lang Lit Paper 2 Examiner. In 2023, I moved to Singapore with my family and am currently working part-time at a top international school - UWCSEA. I am currently in my final year of university, studying Politics at the University of East Anglia. With almost 3 years of experience of tutoring students aged from 7-17 years, ranging from different levels of schooling, such as primary to A-levels, I have had the privilege of using my qualifications and skills in creating an enjoyable environment that helps my students study English independently and to an advanced level. My knowledge and understanding of English has advanced over the years. English is a skill that if nurtured properly, can benefit an individual to progress much further in life than their fellow peers. Tutoring Experience: I have been tutoring, all ages, for over 2 1/2 years and I have a very successful background in leadership and guidance roles. This includes: my participation on my secondary school council board, which lasted the entirety of my high school years (Years 7-11). During my time at college, I stood as Student Governor, where I sat on a private governing board, advocating on behalf of 2000 students. I have been Vice-president of the African- Caribbean Society (ACS), at my university. I am hardworking, intuitive, determined and unprejudiced and I am I will bring my enthusiasm and leadership skills, to improve the quality of my students’ welfare and education.

I adapt every lesson to each student's goals, strengths, and learning style, creating sessions that are focused, supportive, and engaging. My aim is not only to help students understand the material but also to build their confidence and motivation as learners.

Based on Hong Kong Island, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Columbia College, Columbia University, and five TEFL qualification certificates. Currently working in the educational services field in the HKSAR, I am a skilled ESL teacher, as well as a seasoned editor, writer, researcher, and translator. In addition, my high level of fluency in reading, speaking, and translating Mandarin further strengthens my skill set in using great works of English literature, biography, and autobiography as a medium for teaching advanced ESL courses to secondary students based in Hong Kong.
