I always try to make it a fun and personalized experience because enjoying the process is already half the job of learning a new language! With over 1000 hours of experience, I have developed my own method which is very flexible depending on my student. Usually, I try to have various exercises within the session, starting with some conversation, then moving onto a more formal lesson, and usually ending with reading and a small quiz (totally casual, don't be scared!) to better memorize what was just learned.
