My approach to teaching writing is to provide clear guidance while encouraging creativity and independence. I support students through the writing process,from planning and drafting to revising and editing/using models, vocabulary support, and targeted feedback. By giving students regular opportunities to write for meaningful purposes, I help them develop confidence, organization, grammar, and communication skills.
I teach grammar, spelling, and punctuation through engaging and interactive activities rather than memorization alone. I use games, visual aids, stories, and practical writing tasks to make rules easy to understand and remember. I also encourage students to apply these rules in their own writing and provide regular feedback so they can identify mistakes and improve their accuracy with confidence.
My approach to teaching reading is to make it engaging, interactive, and relevant to each student's interests and level. I use a variety of texts and encourage discussion, prediction, and questioning to keep students actively involved. To improve reading comprehension, I help students identify key information, make connections, infer meaning, and summarize what they have read. I also adapt activities to each learner’s needs, ensuring they feel confident and motivated while developing strong comprehension skills.

For example, when teaching the Magic E rule, I tell students that "the silent E is a magic superhero that jumps over the consonant and makes the vowel say its name." So cap becomes cape, kit becomes kite, and hop becomes hope. Using stories, visuals, and fun rules like this helps students understand concepts more easily and remember them when reading and writing independently.
I take time to identify their personal goals and motivations, then adapt lessons to match their needs and learning style. I use encouragement, small achievable steps, and personalized activities so they can experience success early and build confidence. By making learning relevant, supportive, and tailored, students feel more engaged and willing to keep progressing.
I’m not familiar with the specific all English curriculum or requirements. However, I am familiar with common frameworks such as the American and French curricula. I adapt easily to different programs and learning goals, and I can quickly align my teaching to your school’s expectations once they are shared with me. I also believe that bringing an outside perspective can sometimes be an advantage, as it allows for fresh approaches and alternative ways of presenting certain concepts while still meeting curriculum objectives.

I also give students freedom of choice in topics and formats, while guiding them with structure and language support so they can express their ideas confidently and creatively in English.
