My personal approach to teaching writing is simply explain to the student how writing works, and what are the different kinds of writing. I'd show the students how different writings are done. I would explain to them that every writing have their own styles and how they are being used (articles, letters, poems, fable, and sci-fi).
I'd assess the student's understanding of the struction of grammar of course, especially with the subject-verb agreement and verb tenses. I'd teach the students how to spell the words correctly and I'd explain to them the difference between American and British spelling, and that they can use either of the American or the British spelling.
My approach to teaching reading is that I first assess the student's comprehension skills. Once, I've assessed his comprehension level, then that's the time that I can help the student in improving his reading comprehension skills.
By having a lesson what's literarry analysis is all about and how it can help them in improving their critical thinking skills.
I'd do the pronunciation first, then I'd ask my student to copy me on how pronounce and enunciate the words for a couple of times.
I'd help the student by building their self-confidence first, and then I'd encourage him to speak to me fully in English. It may take awhile, but that's how I'd help my student, by building his confidence first and foremost.

By having their interest and full attention. Sometimes, it might be difficult to gain their interest. So, I have to be creative, in order to gain their interest to the lesson. By doing so, it'd give me their full attention.

Precisely, I can suggest some appropiate reading materials for the student to improve his English language skills.
I could help the student by reviewing the previous lessons that he had. This kind of approach is effective because he would relearn what he already knew, or at least remeber some parts that he had forgotten.
I would give samples of different sentences (simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, etc.), and I would explain each of the sentence.
I would explain to them that the importance of writing, and that it is as important as the spoken English.
