Hello! I am an experienced and passionate tutor hailing from a prestigious school in Hong Kong. Currently, I have offers from top UK universities (Durham, Birmingham, Loughborough, Leeds, Kent). Besides being a native English speaker (American English), I have achieved an overall band score of 8/9 in IELTS (9 in reading, 8.5 in listening) and predicted grades of straight 5** in the HKDSE English language (reading, writing, integrated skills, speaking). Additionally, I have achieved an A* in IGCSE English language. In addition to my academic achievements, I have been a reporter for SCMP Youngpost for 3 years and have represented my school in debating tournaments, achieving great results. As a tutor, I have 2 years of experience helping students improve their grades in IGCSE and IELTS exams. I also have experience teaching Phonics and oral skills.

Since having achieved much in the British School system, attaining 11 GCSEs and 3 A-levels to an excellent standard, I have strived to continue my pursuit of further qualifications in both the field of sociology, politics and education. I graduated from Swansea University attaining a 2.1 grade in Humanities and received a CELTA [Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults] qualification from Cardiff University 2 months later. In 2018 I began my master’s degree in City University. I have since graduated, having acquired the MA from The City University of Hong Kong. My classes have been described as fun, yet intensive. I will always encourage my students to speak, especially regarding topics that interest them. As previously mentioned, I love games and will often find ways of making my classes more fun and competitive when possible. Though I have personally been described as ‘wacky’ in demeanour, I am far from a push over and am not afraid to get tough when the occasion calls for it. That being said, I am a very patient person. I will never force students who are struggling, I seek to encourage them and try new techniques to develop their learning. My general philosophy when it comes to teaching has always been to ‘encourage learning through laughter, persistence and care’. Overall, I would consider myself to be outgoing and adaptive to a wide range of personalities.

I am a NET teacher from the UK with over 10 years of teaching English Language in Hong Kong. I have taught many courses such as IELTS and the HKDSE English language course as well as Cambridge FCE, KET, GCSE courses. A good number of my students come from Band 1 schools such as St. Paul's Convent School, Marymount Secondary School, Belilios Public School, Queen's College, and Wah Yan College. I also obtained my Cambridge CELTA teaching certificate in the UK.

I am an IB graduate that aims to teach primary students or secondary student English. I have an overall 8 in my IELTS and achieved level 7 in my IB English HL subject. My overall IB mark is 40 Other than that, I am willing to tutor lower form students in math and biology as well as business management.
