Hello my name is Deanna Hardy. I was born and raised in Oshawa but now reside in Courtice with my husband and two teenaged sons. I received my Bachelor of Education Degree from Nipissing University and my Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Biology from Queen's University. I have been a supply teacher with the Durham District School Board for the past 19 years. My favourite subjects to teach are Mathematics and Science but I have taught all subjects in the curriculum. I am a very patient and experienced educator who loves to see her students succeed. There is nothing better than seeing that "Aha! Moment" on someone's face when they understand what is being taught to them.

I am currently studying chemical engineering at UCL and studied mathematics, physics, and chemistry at A level (achieving A*AA grades). My experience of studying maths and sciences has to lead me to experiment with learning techniques and develop effective ways to be successful in such subjects. For this reason, I will be offering lessons in maths, chemistry physics and biology. I have experience working with young people in my role in visitor engagement in a science museum. In this role, I have developed my ability to connect with people and help them to understand tough concepts in a way that makes science and mathematics as awe-inspiring and exciting as it should be.

I have a strong background in sciences and mathematics. I have also taught students at the university and tutor other students from high school to college as a part-time job during my school days. I would like to continue this passion and share them with other students.

I recently moved to Cape Town since I finished my Engineering degree in 2018. I would love to tutor maths and physics part time to help me feel at home in a new city.
