Hi, my name is Oriana Tio Parahita Nainggolan, but you can call me Tio. I'm from Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and I've been in Bangkok for 6 months pursuing my PhD program. I've been a piano teacher for over 20 years in Yogyakarta, and I am also a music lecturer at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta). I have experience teaching piano to students ranging from children (as young as 4 years old) to adults (up to 60 years old). I hold ABRSM certifications for grade 6 piano and grade 5 theory. I have experience teaching both groups of students and individuals of all ages. My musical background is diverse, starting with a passion for Hard Rock/Heavy Metal and Progressive music. I played in various bands in Rome, touring and performing across Italy, Europe, and the United States. As my musical journey progressed, I delved deeper into studying jazz drummers and exploring different musical styles and cultures, from Latin Music to traditional Scottish drumming. A full-time piano and cello teacher, I graduated from The Education University of Hong Kong, majoring in music, and also attended International Christian Quality Music Secondary School. I achieved the ATCL diploma in piano and obtained grade 8 with merit in cello. During my studies, I was instructed by Miss Shirley Ip and Miss Anna Kwan, who are both talented musicians and members of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. I served as the co-principal cellist in both my secondary school and university orchestras. Additionally, I had the privilege of winning the silver band at the International Youth Music Festival in Czech Republic.
