I am an experienced AI/Machine Learning Engineer who graduated from Yale with a Bachelor of Science in 2015. I want to teach Mathematics and introductory low level programming in C. I teach in Kowloon area in Mong Kok, and am well-equipped to host online lessons as well, with a virtual-black board program, writing pad, and zoom/skype/discord/teams/whatever-video-call-platform-you-like.

I've interviewed enough job candidates with stellar transcripts and no actual knowledge to realize that simply studying for tests is not enough. The education systems in place today do not produce good mathematicians and engineers -- those who succeed do so in spite of these systems.

I want to do my part to fix this systemic educational problem, by reaching out to younger kids to encourage them to not just chase grades, but to achieve true mathematical enlightenment, and to start building things from scratch by themselves. I want them to focus on real-world problems, and to grapple with their intricacies until they themselves find the solutions. I don't want kids to grow into adults who believe that "somebody smarter than them will take care of the details" (which is how most programming is done these days sadly), I want kids who will grow up to be the people who solve those problems, and I'm confident that I can empower young students with potential to solve the complex problems facing the world today without needing to rigidly follow dogmatic "best-practices." I generally take the approach of trying to get students to critically examine the problems they are dealing with, to ask the correct questions, and to figure out solutions themselves. I simply serve as a guide, ensuring that they stay on the right track.

I use my academic and professional experience to construct useful analogies and lesson plans that suit their specific needs, and I ask them the right questions to get them thinking about the problems and the bigger picture. Leggi di meno
