My name is Riddah and was born and raised in Hong Kong. I completed my secondary and higher education in Hong Kong. I have completed my BA (Honors) Business Administration from Birmingham City University. While studying I have gained insight into business and how it works. Furthermore, I was exposed to various sectors in business such as management practice, approaches of business, accounting and marketing and similar areas. During my school years, I have taken classes related to each of these areas. Similarly, I learned about skills set needed in professional working environments. During my school years, I have taken part in debate, speech and competition. I can transfer this knowledge and experience while I am teaching in a school. Using my experience and educational knowledge I strive to make most of the impact that teachers make on young learners. I believe that skills and knowledge learned by the students will serve them well throughout their life. Therefore, as a teacher I hoped to make that contribution into young learner’s life and be a role model that support and guide the learners. I am pursuing PGCE with the hope of working in school in the nearest future. This course will allow me to have understanding and approaches for teaching, experience and educate me on theoretical aspects of working with young learners. I believe I have acquired strong knowledge and solid foundation of working with students. In addition, students are fundamental to our nearest future. Therefore, it is significant that they attain the highest qualification, knowledge, and experience with their chosen career. Over the last three years at ABC Pathways School, I have gained wealth of experience working with children from age of 3 to 16 years. I believe it has facilitated me to have better understanding on academic aspects of way children learn and grow as individual. My approach will depend on the student’s needs and learning style. However, my teaching is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible.
