Usually, we start studying the Devanagari script and pronunciation using my materials. It takes 2-5 lessons. Then, we continue with textbooks (by Egenes, Buhler, Deshpande, or Ruppel). It takes about 40 lessons, after which you'll be able to start reading original texts like Ramayana, Mahabharata, etc.
