My name is Tristan, and I am a qualified teacher and examiner, offering online mathematics tuition.

I have been examining since 2019 for Cambridge Assessment and Pearson (Edexcel).

I have been teaching since 2006 and have taught:
- IB, A Level, IGCSE, GCSE, KS3, IB MYP, US curriculum
- over 1000 students
- in 5 schools (not including those where I trained)
- in 4 different countries
- a multitude of nationalities
- students with various Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- all abilities and attitudes

I offer lessons via Skype, Meet, or Zoom.

My main objective when teaching is to get my students into a position where they:
- are responsible for their own learning: they know their own strengths and weaknesses and use that knowledge to revise their strengths and strengthen their weaknesses, seeking help where necessary.
- feel confident: confident students aren’t afraid to make mistakes; making mistakes is part of the learning process, and a fear of making mistakes inhibits progress. Confident students are more likely to enjoy a subject and perform better.
- trust their teacher, parents, tutor, etc.: it is important that the student realizes that their teachers, parents, tutors, etc. are trying to help them do their best.
- aren't afraid of tests/exams: Anxiety affects performance and concentration.

I have many tools and resources at my disposal, including a document camera, graphics tablet, and graphics calculators. All the student needs is a large screen (to see whatever I share) and a phone (so I can see the work they are doing). Anything additional is a bonus!
