As a working science teacher, I work with students aged 11-18 everyday
A lesson plan helps guide the learning, giving a focus at the start to aim for and a feeling of progress when you reach that aim. My plans are tailored to each student and their abilities, making progress achievable in every session
I use regular low-stakes assessment methods to gauge the progress and understanding of students. This allows me to adapt the challenge during the lesson to each learner's needs.
I focus most of the learning within the lesson, to ensure that support is available. I am willing to provide feedback on school work if pre-agreed.
I use technology to help enhance the learning, such as using an iPad to help make notes throughout the lesson that the student can take away. With extensive experience teaching online classes for up to 30 students, it allows me to make online lessons feel just like an in-person session.
Pre-agreed support can be provided on a case-by-case basis.
My specialty is working with students who find the subject difficult or challenge. I also have extensive experience working with English as a Second Language (ESL) learners, helping to motivate them and progress in not just the content, but their English ability as well.
I have previously worked in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) department in a top international school in Hong Kong, giving me lots of strategies and experience in supporting students with learning differences or additional needs in the learning. Please be upfront with any needs, so I can support you as much as possible.
