Hi there :)

I tutor Mathematics for Grades 6 to 9 and English HL up to matric. I am based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

I have 3 years of experience in tutoring Mathematics, including Grades 6 to 9. My tutoring experience took place in various settings and circumstances, such as volunteering at underfunded primary schools and tutoring younger students through my own high school. I am familiar with setting up lesson plans and working with different schools' teaching techniques.

My tutoring style varies depending on the needs of the student. In general, I first go through and explain the theories they are struggling with, and then work on real examples from homework, past tests, and possible extension questions.

I obtained the second-highest Matric mark for English HL in my grade. I have my Western Province Half Colours for Academia, Full Western Province Colours for Service in my Community, as well as receiving the Principal's Award for Outstanding Service.

I am very passionate about working with children and teenagers and making their schooling career as easy as possible. I am very patient and kind. I understand the limitations and learning difficulties many students face in different communities.

I have completed my first year of university, majoring in Psychology and Sociology. I believe the modules I took in my first year of Psychology are beneficial in working with children, as I completed multiple research papers and tests on Childhood Development. This has given me a deeper understanding when working with children.

All students and environments are different; that's why being flexible and observant are important traits when tutoring. My tutoring style includes these traits, but also follows the basic outline of explaining theories in a concise manner, going through examples in homework and past tests, and then revisiting previous mistakes the student made.
