I am a Math teacher with a year and a half of teaching experience and currently working towards a PGDE in Secondary Mathematics at the University of Birmingham.

I am cheerful and approachable and I believe in putting the pupil at the centre of their learning and equipping them to be able to tackle problems independently and with confidence. I understand that each pupil is different and thus I like exploring different solutions to a particular problem. I don't think Math is 'impossible' and it's just about figuring out what confuses us and working towards clearing out the confusion.

With time, effort and a little instruction from my part, I think a pupil can achieve desirable results and become more confident in Maths. Leggi di meno

I believe in letting students hold the key to their own learning and thus I like to start with asking the student why they think they need my help.

After this, I like to see some work from the student(diagnostic) to see where the problem may lie. Slowly nudging the student to the right answer, I then proceed to get the student to practice a particular concept.

To engage the student I like to build a rapport and come up with relatable situations where the concept may be applied. Leggi di meno
