Students learn the 'architecture' of good writing before they are asked to build their own. Guided Practice & Feedback: This is where the real growth happens. Students write using the frameworks we've studied. My feedback is targeted and actionable, focusing on one or two key areas for improvement at a time (e.g., "Let's work on using stronger verbs," or "How can we make this topic sentence clearer?"). This builds confidence and mastery without overwhelming them. Independent Application & Refinement: The final step is to remove the training wheels. Students apply their skills to original writing, from creative stories to formal exam compositions. We then shift to a refining process, where they learn self-editing techniques to polish their work, making them independent and resilient writers. Ultimately, I don't just teach writing; I build writers. The goal is to give them the tools, confidence, and love for expression that lasts a lifetime."
